Remember, winterizing your bike is preventative maintenance that in addition to getting your bike ready for winter, also ensures your spring and summer biking will begin problem-free. Our winterizing service option includes cleaning and lubing of the brake bosses, seat post, stem, and pedal threads, removing and lubing any accessory hardware that is attached to the frame and fork, and lubing any hardware attached to accessories. ..the spectre of Autumn. A cold chill is in the air, children have resumed their daily peregrinations to and from school and squirrels are absent-mindedly storing foods for the coming winter. At Urbane we have arm-, leg- and knee-warmers to keep you toasty on these chillier mornings as well as a good selection of waterproof jackets, pants, capes and shoe covers. Jack Layton 1950-2011

Jack was a friend of the shop since the day we opened our doors; in fact, he helped open them at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Over the years Jack and Olivia had been frequent visitors here and vocal supporters of cyclists in Toronto. His infectious optimism was a type rarely seen in life, let alone in a career politician. Jack's passing leaves a void in us all and our sincerest condolences are extended to Olivia, Michael and the rest of the family.

The Urbanite 20something is here! Inspired by classic small-wheeled bikes of years gone by such as the Raleigh Shopper or Twenty, we've updated the concept for the 21st century. We've noticed that some 20" wheel bikes, including the folders we sell are often geared too easily; on the 20something we spec'd a larger chainring and an appropriate cassette, giving us the sort of gear range we feel works best. To ensure your drivetrain's safety we put a bash guard on the front chanring as well as the rear derailleur. Because we're practical here at Urbane we included fenders, a rack on the back and a kickstand to boot. Finally, because we're realistic, we priced it at $525.
